The double girder cranes find extensive use in Induction Furnace, Arc Furnace, Cold Rolling Mills, Paper Mills, Pipe Mills and Heavy Engineering Industry. These cranes have the advantage of low overall height as the hook can be raised between the two crane girders. These cranes can be equipped for cabin, floor pendant control, joy stick control and radio control. The cabin can be attached to the bridge or trolley as in case of grabbing cranes.

The single girder cranes offer the advantage of low dead weight. These cranes are designed to be operated by floor pushbutton pendant. The hoist travels on the bottom flange of the girder.

The hoist is a robust unit and can be used in a number of innovative ways as detailed below :

• On a girder as a monorail for inter-departmental movement of loads. The monorail track can have curved portions also which the hoist can traverse easily due to specially designed flexible trolley. The power supply is through shrouded conductor system.
• On Jib and Gantry crane for loading & unloading applications.

Gear Box's housing is of graded cast iron generously proportioned to ensure proper radiation of heat generated when units are operated at their maximum capability. The walls of the housing are of sufficient hickness to withstand the most severe stresses encountered during operation. Even the fasteners used for tightening are of tested quality and best available in thw country. The gears are generated with highest acuuracy on the hobbing machine. These gears run silently in the oil bath to ensure cool operation. Shafts having pinions cut integral areof heat treated alloy steel forging and are finished to high precision tolerance by grinding. The oil level indicator located in the housing is to ensure the proper amount of lubricant in the housing. All gear units are specifically designed in accordance with Indian Standards.
